  • 3. Why Must We Embrace Our Diversity?
    • The body of Christ grows and is strengthened when sisters of every age, class, culture, and ethnic group are sought out to participate activity in the mission of LWML

  • 4. What Exactly Does Diversity Include?
    • Diversity is not only black and white, female and male, Jew and Christian, young and old, etc.; but the diversity of every women, slow learner and fast learner, introvert and extrovert, controlling type and people type, scholar and sports-person, liberal and conservative, etc
  • 5. What is Diversity?
    • Diversity is what builds a strong organization— a collection of women experiences, backgrounds, and cultures that can view problems and challenges from a wide-variety of lenses.
    • Diversity makes our LWML organization strong by capitalizing on all of the strengths of every women.
    • Diversity is understanding, valuing, and using the differences in every Women.
    • Diversity is about empowering women.
  • 6. Why Is Embracing Our Diversity A Challenge?
    • Some of us may feel threatened or fear diversity simply because we are accustomed to the way things used to be and change makes us uncomfortable.
  • 7. Why Must We Embrace Our Diversity?
    • Embracing diversity is the first item for building teams.
    • Diversity is what builds a strong organization— a collection of individual experiences, backgrounds, and cultures that can view problems and challenges from a wide-variety of lenses.
  • 8. Why Is Embracing Our Diversity A Challenge?
    • Our bias and prejudice are deeply rooted within us.
    • From the moment when we are born, we learn about ourselves, our environment, and the world.
    • Families, friends, peers, books, teachers, idols, and others influence us on what is right and what is wrong.
    • These early leanings are deeply rooted within us and shape our perceptions about how we view things and how we respond to them.
  • 9. Why Is Embracing Our Diversity A Challenge?
    • One of the main failures that prevent a group from becoming a team is the failure to accept others for what they are.
    • Failing to accept the diversity of others keeps the group members from going after team goals.
    • Diversity is the key for turning weak areas into strong areas does the group start to grow into a team.
  • 10. How do we Embrace Our Diversity?
    • Look around and see that our society is very diverse.
    • Recognize that cultural diversity brings together the resources and talents of many women for the shared benefit of all.
    • Learn together to recognize our similarities and appreciate our differences.
    • Learn to accept others for what they are.

    • Embracing diversity is more than tolerating women who are different. It means actively welcoming and involving them by:
      • Developing an atmosphere that is safe for all— joining weakness with strengths to get the goal accomplished.
