Leadership Jackson County

Mission Statement
To support the development of the leadership potential that exists within Jackson County and to promote deeper understanding of the community in which we live.

Goals
Identify existing and emerging leaders who show evidence of community interest and involvement.
Increase participants’ potential for civic responsibility and leadership through leadership training and the study of community challenges and issues.
Create strong communications channels among participants and other established community projects.

History of Leadership JC
Leadership Jackson County was established in the early 1990s

Alabama Cooperative Extension System
Jackson County Economic Development Authority
The Greater Jackson County Chamber of Commerce

Board of Directors
The Leadership Jackson County Board of Directors consists of 9 graduates and 4 ex-officio members

Youth Leadership JC
The youth component of the leadership Jackson County Program consists of students from all of the High Schools in Jackson County.
Youth are selected by each High School Counselors
Youth are interviewed by the Adult Leadership Youth Chair Committee
Interview process is competitive and is based on community service, academics and interview skills.
Participants must attend 90% of program in order to graduate
