Sense of urgency - Climate and Energy issues - Presentation Transcript

    1. A sense of urgency Climate and energy issues 2 December 2009 Mark Gankema Version 2
    2. SENSE OF URGENCY Oil and gas companies are very aware of the limitations of conventional oil and gas Shell’s three hard truths 1. World-wide energy demand will increase strongly and double between now and 2050 2. The supply of conventional oil and gas will not be able to keep up at such a pace 3. More consumption of energy will result in a further increase of CO2 emissions with unacceptable consequences 2 Dec 2009 Sense of urgency – version 2 2 © Copyright M.E. Gankema – All rights reserved
