ARD Events <ul><li>Three events, one main event </li></ul><ul><li>All during the week of America Recycles Day </li></ul><ul><li>Our events caused teachers to teach lessons on recycling </li></ul><ul><li>Kids brought recyclables from home and came up with ideas for their posters in school </li></ul>
  • 5. Community Involvement <ul><li>Whole school, all teachers </li></ul><ul><li>Sent letters home to parents </li></ul><ul><li>PTA </li></ul>
  • 6. Recycling Awareness, Education and Behavior <ul><li>Gave kids incentive to recycle </li></ul><ul><li>Helped them to realize the importance of recycling </li></ul><ul><li>While making the posters they told us about what they recycle at home </li></ul><ul><li>Hung up posters as reminders </li></ul>
  • 7. Sustainability and Creativity <ul><li>Used recycled paper for posters </li></ul><ul><li>All items in goody bags were recyclable </li></ul><ul><li>All involved got pencils that were made of recycled newspaper </li></ul><ul><li>Younger grades now want to make posters on what they know about recycling </li></ul>
  • 8. Conclusion <ul><li>Work together to provide the children of the Brooks School with the information and motivation they need to learn why and how to recycle in school, and at home. </li></ul>
