Joint European Course and Study o Additional goals – observe creativity as a process and as a product – study how collaborative creativity in educational settings is supported and constrained by the technologies (Creativity models) – analyze the role of mobile technologies in creative collaboration4
  5. 5. Joint EU Course & Study Definitions o Creative collaboration – a multidisciplinary process where various problems are explored from novel perspectives and the result of collaboration is not defined beforehand (Mamykina et. al, 2002; Sternberg, 2006)5
  6. 6. Joint EU Course & Study Definitions o Different perspectives of mobile learning, e.g. – Any sort of learning that happens when the learner is not at a fixed, predetermined location – or learning that happens when the learner takes advantage of the learning opportunities offered by mobile technologies (Malley et. al, 2003)6
  7. 7. Joint European Course Design o Three partners – TU Estonia – OU Finland – NTNU Norway o Three local courses – New Interactive Environments – Learning Theory and Pedagogical Use of Technology – Cooperation Technology7
  8. 8. Joint European Course Design o Developing specific expertise in local activities o Joining in international teams for a creative collaborative task8
  9. 9. Joint European Course Task o Creating a media handbook for educators o Each of the ~7 book chapters – entitled by a TEL-related challenge designed by CoCreat partners – consists of a solution developed by one international group of students9
  10. 10. Joint EU Course Learning goals o Apply theoretical knowledge to practical problem solving (collaboration with international partners of different expertise) o Write collaboratively and create an independent section to electronic publication, based on data collected o Design a technological environment for educational purposes10

  14. 14. Study Data Collection o Digital traces of groups’ technological landscapes used in different stages of creative process o Individual reflection of the participants o Developed artifacts of the group work o Semi-structured interviews with the participants14
  15. 15. Study Expected Contribution 1 o Increased understanding of creativity as a collaborative process – implications for creativity support in education – creativity as a process and as a product15
  16. 16. Study Expected Contribution 2 o Cases of applying technology for supporting collaborative creativity – supported and constrained – mobile technologies – mapping to different Creativity models16
