  • Holy Trinity Gr. 4 Writing Teacher PLC
    • What is a PLC?
      • A PLC is a group of educators formed to focus on and commit to the learning of each student they touch.
      • This collaborative team is created to work together to achieve common goals linked to student learning.
      • Teachers impact student learning by changing their classroom practice.
      • PLC teams engage in collective inquiry into best practices in teaching and learning.
      • They reflect on their own teaching and the level of achievement of their own students.
      • Members of the PLC are expected to work and learn together.
  • Holy Trinity Gr. 4 Writing Teacher PLC
    • Members of the PLC require a clear vision and purpose - what do they need to do to ensure that our students learn? We need to work together to:
      • clarify what each member will do to create the PLC
      • use results-oriented goals to mark their progress
      • work together to clarify what each student must learn
      • monitor each student's learning
      • provide interventions to ensure students are learning when they struggle
      • extend and enrich learning when students have mastered the outcomes
  • Holy Trinity Gr. 4 Writing Teacher PLC

        • explore and use strategies and teaching ideas from 6 + 1 Write Traits to improve student writing.
      • #3 - Implement those strategies and ideas. How?
        • be purposeful and dedicated to using those strategies and ideas in your classroom
      • #4 - Analyze the impact of the changes to discover what was effective and what was not.
