Evaluation. I have created a questionnaire, consisting of 7 questions about their preferences for a music magazine. I gave the questionnaire to 20 people of the ages 16-17, male and female, and came up the previous results, which showed a majority vote in most cases. I will use these results to determine how my magazine will be created. Looking at my results I can figure out what style of music is popular at the moment and what bands appeal to my target audience. It seems the Indie genre is well regarded for people aged 16-17 but also the Dubstep is suggested as it has become popular in the last year. It seems that a high percentage of my audience buys music illegally. So that could be a suggested feature in my magazine, to persuade you not to do so. It is clear by my research that free items within the magazine is popular and would attract the audience to purchase my magazine. Posters and CDs are a main attraction to young people as a CD within a magazine is received at no higher cost than the magazine itself, ranging from £3-5, which is much cheaper than online or shop purchases. The audiences interests with a music magazine includes upcoming bands, which is important these days as music is constantly changing in style and new bands are continuingly being introduced. Also tour dates, more and more young people are attending gigs all over the UK, so information on dates and venues are needed for ticket sales.
