  • Alright, so the topics we will be discussing today are as followed: first, what is social media? Secondly, we’ll take a look at what social media sites are currently a prospective outlook for our company to pursue. Then we will discuss the benefits and opportunities that lie among the usage of social media and what potentially could come out of our company after.
  • What is social media? To be specific, social media is a compilation of websites and applications that enable their users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. Your social network is the web of connections that you have with people you know, the people they know, etc. Building this is incredibly important because it gives you a lot of power.
  • Examples of popular social media includes (but is not limited to): Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, and Blogspot.
  • One of the biggest benefits of using social media is the reduced costs for marketing. Nearly every social media site is free to sign up for. It’s a free way to broadcast or promote whatever it is that you’d like without the cost of materials or venue. Another huge benefit to using social media is being able to address customers immediately and effectively, thus improving your customer service overall. Not only that but it also allows other customers to see your responses which may answer one of their own questions, as well. Also, given that customers are speaking highly of your company, it can help to network the company. If customers are validating your business, other potential customers could see this as well and value your services more than a competitor’s. Another benefit of using social media is the freedom to design your online profile however you desire without the corporate limitations and stiffness. You can design it to be as easy-going and customer friendly as you want.
  • As you can see here, the growth of the social media sites listed have all had a significant increase over a six year period. With social media emerging and growing itself, associating your company with it will only help to market it even further. The potential growth that a company can endure once joining and using social media is going to lead to a staggering increase in everything.
  • In conclusion, with the outstanding popularity and usage of social media over the last few years, I believe that your company would benefit and prosper from this if used properly. I believe that building and networking is worth the time and effort that it will take. If you implement an effective social media marketing plan, your business will thrive. Afterall, social media makes the world go round.
