  • 2. Projects Winton Contents • The idea • The Technology Demonstrator • Demonstration • Discussion • Next Steps
  • 3. Projects Winton The Idea • We need a way to track suggestions and responses • An easy way to manage responses would be to set up a Kanban Board in Project Place • Project Place provides an API feature which allows external websites to create new “Cards” and extract “Card” data from the system
  • 4. Projects Winton Benefits of Project Place KanBan Board • Easy to track progress and manage work across multiple stakeholders • Configurable and flexible tool • Links to the Plan feature
  • 5. Projects Winton The Technology Demonstrator
  • 6. Projects Winton Underlying Principles • Two web pages • One to demonstrate submission of a new idea • One to display all suggestions along with current status and an update • Suggestion text forms the “Card” title • Current status is derived from the KanBan Board column names • Update text is derived from the “Card” Description field
  • 7. Projects Winton Page 1 - Register a suggestion
  • 8. Projects Winton Page 2 - Display Current Status
  • 9. Projects Winton “Techie” Bits • Written in PHP and HTML using the Oauth and MySQL libraries • Uses the ProjectPlace Board API features connected to the Programme Management SIG TEST project • Currently running on Colin Parker’s laptop • Produced by Colin Parker an APM volunteer with help from Jon Nylander of Project Place
  • 10. Projects Winton Demonstration
  • 11. Projects Winton Discussion • Could include the Description field in the idea registration as well as title • Could extract Comments through the API to provide the update text
  • 12. Projects Winton Next Steps • Agree additional features for demonstrator • Build additional features • Organise external hosting • Demonstrate more widely
