  • 1. For Andrew Meringoff Prepared by Michael Bystry Research
  • 2.  Had 1,127 survey respondents, of which 1/3 were local to DC and 2/3 were in other states or international  Employment leads and wanting to connect with other are most popular reasons people had for joining  For locals (VA/DC/MD residents or workers) there is interest in having more in-person events, either structured (such as planned speakers) and unstructured events (such as happy hours and morning coffee)  Washington, DC is the location most mentioned as a meeting location for future events, with Bethesda, Rockville, Tysons Corner, Reston, and Arlington being popular locations for Maryland and Virginia
  • 3. Most of the slides will provide an analysis using all respondents. For the planning of face-to-face events, only response for local persons will be used.
  • 4.  Over 40% of respondents found the group on their own via Linkedin.com  Over 70% just participate online only. This is no doubt influenced by the large nonlocal membership.  44% have shared the group with a friend.
  • 5.  About 55% of respondents are seeking employment leads, although only 15% are seeking employees
  • 6.  Just under 60% of respondents would be likely to attend a happy hour social; around 50% for morning coffee.  About 1/3 would likely attend a planned speaker event. Around 2/3 said they would pay as $10 for a speaker event  Since more people answered the “willing to pay” question than “would be most likely to attend a speaker event,” it would indicate another third of respondents have some conditional interest in speaker events. Percentages based on local respondents only
  • 7.  Over 45% said they have interest in events related to job placement  20% have interest in marketing related issues for their business Percentages based on local respondents only
  • 8.  Over 45% said they have interest in events related to career coaching, which is about the same % as for Job Placement for the Business topics.  30% have interest in personal wealth management and another 25% in retirement planning. Percentages based on local respondents only
  • 9.  Almost half the respondents said they have interest in events related to using social networking tools.  About 45% have interest in Business Intelligence tools. Percentages based on local respondents only
  • 10.  Events that allowed people to mingle freely, such as a happy hour or breakfast were most popular with respondents over any organized, structures social.  Wine tastings were the most popular planned structured events Percentages based on local respondents only
