Adv410 Presentation Transcript

  • 1. Leister Police Department Public Relations Strategy ADV 410 By: Meredith Pass
  • 2. Situation  Nina Hobson spent four months of her sixteen year career as an undercover police officer who examined fellow colleagues of the Leister police force during their shifts on duty. During these four months she utilized a hidden camera to follow these police officers creating a documentary. Her findings revealed many issues that are disturbing to not only the public but other workers in the police force.
  • 3. Objectives  The objective of this press release is to inform the Great Britain population that this documentary by Nina Hobson is not a representation of all police forces. Also, it is necessary that people focus on the positive attributes and protection the entire Great Britain police force provides for its people.
  • 4. Strategies  There are a few strategies that will be implemented and they are summarized as the following: Create a documentary featuring the same Leister  police force followed by Ms. Hobson revealing the protection and legitimate actions performed by the squad Release to the Great Britain public statistics and  documents highlighting the strengths of the police officers Convert feelings of discontent about the Leister  police force into those that are accepting and willing to learn and listen
  • 5. Tactics  The way I will put our strategies into action is through several tactics. They include reaching the mainstream population by placing an article in the London Times, The Sun, The Independent, and The Scotsman reiterating the positive qualities of Great Britain’s police forces. Also a summary of Nina Hobson’s documentary will be featured in negative light. Furthermore, I plan to reach the Great Britain mainstream population by airing a press conference with the Chief Constable as the spokesperson explaining why he condemns what was revealed Ms. Hobson’s documentary.  Create a rape awareness event that will help reassure the public that the Leister police are doing their best to convict rapists  Have a mandatory clinic for Leister police officers to attend discussing the elements of sexism in the work place
  • 6. Budget  There will be a $50,000 budget to carry out the intended plan of clinics and media releases. This budget will last the full year of execution.
  • 7. Evaluation  After the one year period of events and clinics for the Great Britain police forces, specifically the Leister police force, an evaluation will be performed via a survey. This survey will be distributed to not only members of the police force but those of the general Great Britain public. This survey will evaluate the police force and the confidence people have in it.
  • 8. Source Credibility  As I am the spokesperson for the Great Britain police force, and have been for the past twenty years, I assure you I provide expertise, sincerity, and charisma throughout the entirety of this press release.
  • 9. Cognitive Dissonance  As many people believe the police force to be dishonest, circumstances have changed and advanced for the better. The force has gone through further training so to insure you, the public, that they are working at their best potential to provide legitimate protection every day.
  • 10. The Flow of Opinion  Assure the public that the police force protects every citizen of Great Britain, no matter their race  Assure the public that each individual should and will be treated with proper respect
  • 11. Suggestions for Action  I am asking you, the public, to support the Great Britain police force as a whole and help to stop crime in your neighborhood. I can assure you that the police force is working hard at their job but each community would not be as safe without the help and support of its fellow members.
