Personal Life-Personal Life- Father was an inspector of
the Royal Fields in Montpellier. Mother
came from wealthy family. Moved to Paris
and Coulomb went to Collège des Quatre
-Nations. Went into the military and
became a Captain. Later returned to his
Education-Education- Went to Collège des Quatre
-Nations. Studied Mathematics.
Positions-Positions- He became Captain in the
military. He became one of the first
members of the French National Institute
and was appointed inspector of public
instruction in 1802.
Contributions-Contributions- He discovered an inverse
relationship of the force between electric
charges and the square of its distance,
later named after him as Coulomb’s Law.
