is how the lights turn off slowly the further away she get from the camera.

protagonist and best friend hug over what has occurred in the car

implies that she has escaped the darkness and realized what has happened

Then it is an over the shoulder where we see the protagonist latch's on
whilst grieving on her friends arm about how she has lost her child and

Then it is a Two Shot of the those two crying in grief and anger showing
them that they have lost their closest ones.

Then it Pans into a CU (Clos up) of the third musketeer where she shows
emotion of loosing her causal love fling ( best friends husband) and best
friends daughter

Then it has it’s final scene before the time skip where they both
cry in agony and the the third “friend” walks of in pain.

Then it has it’s final Frame where it’s a VWS of the pair crying in
agony about the loss of today and how they can never changed what
happened on that Day.
