  • 1. WARRIORS
    • Terracotta army
    • Discovered by Chinese peasants while digging a well in 1974.
    • The warriors were buried with the emperor of Qin {Qin Shi Huang }209-210BC.
    • The purpose of the warriors was to help rule another empire with Shi Huang in his after life.

    • There were 8,000 men and horses.
    • They also had a weapon called a PI.
    • The warriors were all facing east ready for battle.
    • The warriors are over 2,000 years old.

    • The construction of the army began in 246 BC and took 700,000 workers to complete. (that’s not them of course!)
  • 4.
    • The army was found within a compound which has several offices, halls and other structures and was surrounded by a wall with gateway entrances.
  • 5.
    • The remains of several craftsmen working in the tomb have also been found
    • It is believed that they were locked inside to stop them from telling anyone.
  • 6.
    • The tomb also had four large stairways
    • It is believed they were built to aid the departure of the Emperors soul.
