Coretta Scott King helped pass the Civil Rights Act after
her husband, Martin Luther King Jr.’s, death
April 27, 1927 was a special day for
everyone especially her parents who loved
her so. Coretta Scott King was born but no
one knew how famous she would be when
she grew up. Coretta is famous not because
of slavery, but because she helped to pass
the Civil Rights Act, which gave equal rights
to white and black people.
