The Science of Great Social Media Content Marketing was delivered at Pubcon (The Search and Social Media Conference) by Mel Carson - Founder of Delightful Communications. In the presentation Mel talks about the science of creating compelling social media marketing campaigns through being agile, delightful and unexpected. There are some great examples of social media customer service from companies like Bartell Drugs in Seattle who do a great job of communicating with their customers via Twitter. The talk also includes some slides on the science of content marketing through social media where Mel breaks down Tweets and Facebook updates to show how different messages can be sent to a fan or follower via a careful choice of words and by actually having a marketing goal behind each phrase in the update. Digital PR is also talked about where Mel gives examples of how using social media, video and image assets a PR team can use the internet to amplify PR messages through digital and make those PR messages heard by more people.
