    • 4. Why cite your sources?
      • Plagiarism is a serious violation of academic integrity
      • Give credit where credit is due
      • Strengthen the quality of your arguments through referencing scholars
    • 5. Ways to avoid plagiarism
      • Cite sources that are not common knowledge
      • Manage your time – the earlier you start an assignment the more capable you will be of using the sources properly
      • Ask for help, talk to someone at the LRC or the Writing Centre
      • Even when you are not using the exact words of someone else, you still need to credit the source
      • Keep notes and bibliographic information together
        •  RefWorks is one way to keep all your citation information together!
