The iPad in the ESL Classroom
I really think that there are endless possibilities for ESL education.
Technology labs can be replaced with the easier to use iPad touch devices.
Programs that are very expensive could become more affordable with the iPad.
It could create a "paperless" environment where text book are purchased through their new "app", iBooks.
With iWorks built specifically for the iPad and the ability to sync with either a Mac or PC, this provides an excellent solution for creating presentations or documents.
Continuation
The ability for students to highlight information, add comments, and share the comments with other students can be very powerful.
With an appropriate app, it also would allow students a simple way to ask the instructor for clarification or additional information on the reading.
Because it includes a 10 hour battery life, you don’t have the hassle of having extension cords allover your classroom; with a VGA adapter, you can directly connect it to a TV, monitor or projector, to watch a slideshow.
Blogging, podcasts, browsing, etc. can be done in brand new innovative ways.
Opinion about iPad
I think that this device if used correctly could be of great use in the ESL classroom, it can help the teacher by permitting her to work more efficiently and faster, you would not need an antivirus, because Mac devices are well protected against virus.
The iPad is easy to use and you can learn faster.
I had the opportunity to use one and it was really fast, and the iWork application is just amazing, I created a beautiful presentation in a few minutes, using just my fingers, but if needed a keyboard may be added.
The possibilities for its use are almost limitless.
The iPad
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION!!!
