Sue provided an insight into the management of a leading educational provider striving to meet the skills challenges of the 21st century, as well as how the College came to be named the Sunday Times 2010 ‘Best Place to Work in the Public Sector\’ in Yorkshire and the Humber.

  • Vacancy gap is 5109
  • Redhall Group, the engineering support services company headquartered in Wakefield, has reported increased pre-tax profits of £3.5m for the six months to 31 March 2010, up 10 per cent on the same period last year. Revenue for the period also increased to £65.4m from £64.8m in 2009. Wakefield-based Cape have announced a solid start to their year with overall trading meeting expectations.
  • WDH's Community Employment Advisors have been working tirelessly to assist local people with CVs, interview techniques and training opportunities. The team, as part of the West Yorkshire team from Jobcentre Plus , won silver in the Chief Executive’s Award for Social Inclusion .
  • Caleb have defied convention buy offering ‘Your Own Space’ which is desk space, meeting space, even drop-in space, in a creative environment for FREE. Trippletree Ltd is the first company to take Caleb up on the offer and within the first week took receipt of an order from a UK Wholesaler, supplying fresh produce to hotels and restaurants for 1500 kilos of beans per week.
  • The centre, located in Hemsworth, West Yorkshire, has been specifically designed to cater for the needs of new, infancy and growing businesses. And now the centre has become a flagship property by gaining the sought-after rating of Leading Edge under ict active – the first property in Wakefield to achieve the rating and only the third in West Yorkshire.
  • Unsorted waste is put into a huge vessel and rotated while steam is injected into the system at around 160 degrees Celsius. The three units will be installed at the South Kirkby site to treat 180,000 tonnes of waste a year reducing the need for landfill
  • There are hopes that the service will attract more tourism and investment into the area. London will be just two hours and five minutes away from Pontefract on the fastest service. On weekdays three Grand Central services will depart Monkhill for London
  • The deal will also prove a bonus to the Yorkshire corporate finance market as a number of advisors on the deal are known to be based in this region, including KPMG , led by Christian Mayo , which acted for Card Factory.
  • MG Metal Design and Booth Autosalvage are the latest tenants at the Castleford site which already houses Bedworld, Burberry and NYK Transport. MG Metal Design, who specialise in street furniture, bollards and security products have taken a 2 year lease on a 10,000 sq ft unit at the White Rose Estate on Methley Road, Castleford. MG Metal Design were a finalist in the Wakefield District Business Awards 2009 – New Business category Booth Autosalvage, a car spares and repair company, have also taken a 2 year lease at the site on a 6,000 sq ft unit.
  • New delegates are from a range of sectors, including training, web design, travel, recruitment and consultancies.
