  • 2. ART HOUSE CONVENTIONS....Fluff uses a small cast of four -Very Art HouseFluff uses only a few conventions- Very Art House• An Art Film aims at reaching aniche audience rather than amass market.• Often a serious piece of worknot intended for wide appeal.• The principle intention isaesthetic reasons rather thancommercial profit.• Contains unconventional orhighly symbolic content. The ‘helper’ role identified by Vladimir Prop, moststories, features a helper who supports the maincharacter.Typically this convention is used in ‘rom coms’.In Definitely, Maybe, the main protagonist has hischild as the ‘helper.’‘The helper’....Fluff’s helper: the mysticRom Com Conventions.....

  • 5. Girl VS BoyBinary Opposites in fluffLevi Straussʼ theory on Binary Opposites occursright from the outset of my film. The boy wants romanceAnd she really doesnʼt.............
  • 6. BATHE’S CODES...Alash the mystical character gives Noah advice in FluffThe enigma/ Brother Bear talking to mystical ghost elephantsCODE: E N I G M AMAKE THE AUDIENCE CURIOUS KEEP THEM WANTING TO WATCH
  • 7. Fluff’s intentions....A POST MODERN ROM COMThe characters in a ʻrom comʼ tend to be familiar ʻstockʼcharacters, where as in my film, the protagonist as well as thesupporting cast are not really that clearly defined. Their facialexpressions and verbal responses lean more towards Art House.
  • 8. My film was inspired my a small budget short, ‘The Plan’ where themain character falls out of love with his girlfriend but finds new love whilst on aroad trip.....INSPIRATION....WITH MOMENTS OF NOTTING HILL.....THE PLANHUGH ON HIS QUESTNOAH ON HISNEWLOVE INTERESTNOAHʼSNEW LOVE INTEREST
