  4. 4. Visit the Bookmobile! Are you unable to get to the Meade County Public Library? Do you know that the MCPL Bookmobile can bring the library to you?   You can borrow books, magazines, audio books, movies, documentaries, and more at this library on wheels!  Call 422-2094 for a complete schedule of stops or request a visit to your community .

  6. 6. Zumba Mondays • 9:30-10:30 AM Thursdays • 6:30-7:30 PM Meade County Public Library Ditch the workout and join the party! Zumba is a Latin-inspired, easy to follow fitness party. Zumba’s fusion of international rhythms gets you moving, dancing, burning calories, and having fun!  
  7. 7. Yoga Wednesdays • 10:00 AM • 6:30 PM Meade County Public Library Improve your posture, mood, and concentration with free yoga classes! In addition to its stress-relieving capabilities, yoga has been doctor recommended for its core strengthening and spinal stabilization. All levels of experience welcome and no registration necessary.
  8. 8. Beginning Yoga Wednesdays • 5:00 PM Meade County Public Library This class is a perfect introduction to the many physical and mental benefits of yoga. No experience needed and all equipment is provided. Please sign up at the front desk.
  9. 9. Art Quilting Thursdays beginning November 3rd 11:00 AM-1:00 PM • 6:00-8:00 PM Meade County Public Library Make a decorative Christmas art quilt! Space is limited, so register at the front desk.
  10. 10. Diabetes Workshop Wednesday, November 9th • 9:00-11:00 Meade County Public Library Learn how to prevent and manage diabetes in this informational workshop. Participant questions welcomed and no registration required!

  12. 12. History of Steamboating Monday, November 21st • 6:00-7:00 PM Meade County Public Library Chuck Parrish of the Steamboat Bicentennial Committee will show the film 200 Years of Steam Boating, 1811-2011 and discuss the machines’ impact on America. Come with questions!
  13. 13. Explosive Evanovich Monday, November 28th • 6:00-7:00 PM Meade County Public Library Come share the fun and laughter of Janet Evanovich’s Plum series books. You may win a copy of Explosive Eighteen for your personal library!
  14. 14. Basket Weaving Wednesday, November 30th • 12-4 PM Meade County Public Library Discover the art of basket weaving! All levels of experience welcome and participants are asked to bring their own supplies. See the front desk for more information.
  15. 15. Take the 50 Books Challenge and help your child prepare for success in school while earning prizes at the same time! Read or listen to all the books on our list of classic titles and receive a goodie bag, certificate, and FREE PRIZE BOOK to add to your home library. Lists are available for ages 0-8 th grade, so the more you read, the more you win! See the Children’s Desk for more information.

  17. 17. Story Hour Mondays & Tuesdays • 10:30-11:30 • Ages 3-6 Meade County Public Library Join us for stories, rhymes, music, sign language, a craft, and other activities that help promote literacy and language skills.
  18. 18. Pages and Play Wednesday, November 16th & 30th • 10:30-11:30 • Ages 0-5 Meade County Public Library Help children learn literacy skills through creative play using the library’s collection of educational toys.
  19. 19. Arts and Kids Wednesday, November 9th & 23rd • 10:30-11:30 • Ages 2-6 Meade County Public Library Express yourself through music, dance, and art- and let the library clean up the mess! Experiment with different mediums and come ready to get creative. Art smocks provided.
  20. 20. Kindergarten 101 Thursdays • 10:30-11:30 • Ages 4-5 Meade County Public Library Get ready for school success in this storytime that focuses on skills needed in kindergarten. Children attend independently while an adult caregiver remains in the library. Space is limited, so register at the Children’s Desk today!

  25. 25. Breaking Dawn Release Party Wednesday, November 16th • 5:30-7:00 • Ages 12-17 Meade County Public Library Get ready for the end of the Twilight saga at our release party! Prize drawings, trivia contests, lots of Team Edward vs. Team Jacob competition and refreshments.
