  1. 1. December 2010 Programs at the Meade County Public Library Have a blessed holiday season and don’t forget to stock up on books, audios, and movies to get you through the winter!

  4. 4. Food for Fines The Meade County Public Library will offer the chance to clear fines from your library card by donating canned food November 29th-December 30th. The library will give the items for distribution to families in need. Small cans (8oz.-10oz.) are worth $.50 each toward reducing your fines. Medium cans (11oz.-14oz) are worth $1.00 each. Large cans (15oz. and up) are worth $2.50 each. Canned goods must be labeled, dent-free and within their expiration date. No government-issued goods will be accepted. There is no cash back if the worth of the canned food is more than your fine. This program does not apply towards paying for lost or damaged materials. And as always, you are welcome to pay your fines in cash! Thank you for your generosity!

  7. 7. Totally Nonstop Toddler Time Tuesdays • 9:30-10:00AM • Ages Birth- 3 Years Meade County Public Library Annex Sing songs, make music, and shake out wiggles at this energetic storytime! This is a perfect way to introduce your child to the library, help them socialize, and learn important early literacy skills.
  8. 8. Thursday, December 9th Drop in any time from 5:00-7:00PM Come celebrate the holiday season with your family and a night of crafts! Make an ornament for your Christmas tree, enjoy a cup of cocoa, write letters to Santa, and watch your favorite holiday shows. All ages welcome. Christmas Ornament Workshop
  9. 9. Little Princess Tuesday, December 14th • 6:00-7:00PM • Ages 3-7 Meade County Public Library Annex Come dressed royally for a night of crafts and princess activities.
  10. 10. Saturday, December 18th • 9:00AM-12:00PM • Ages 10- 17 Meade County Public Library Annex Wow the judges with your skills and compete in Beginner’s, Intermediate, or Advanced categories. Snacks provided.
  11. 11. Bakugan Tournament Come learn about the latest game craze! Snacks provided. Saturday, December 18th • 1:00-3:00PM • Ages 10-17 Meade County Public Library Annex
  12. 12. Milk, Cookies, and a Movie with Santa Claus! Tuesday, December 21st • 5:00-7:30PM Meade County Public Library Annex Have your picture taken with Santa from 5:00-5:30 and receive a copy to take home at the end of the movie. Enjoy milk and cookies while watching The Search for Santa Paws.

Homeschool Connections Tuesday, December 28th • 1:00- 2:00PM All ages welcome Meade County Public Library Annex Learn what the library has to offer homeschoolers and network with other parents while children enjoy crafts, activities, and special presentations. Please sign up at the front desk.
  14. 14. Yoga Wednesdays • 10:00 AM • 6:30 PM Meade County Public Library Annex Yoga is a unique way to improve the flexibility and strength of your mind, body, and life. In addition to the stress-relieving capabilities, it has been doctor recommended for its core strengthening and spinal stabilization. Improve your posture, mood, and concentration with all levels of experience welcome.
  15. 15. Beginning Yoga Wednesdays • 5:00 PM Meade County Public Library Annex This class is a perfect introduction to the many physical and mental benefits of yoga. No experience needed and all equipment is provided.

  17. 17. Paper Crafts Thursday, December 2nd & 16th • 5:00 PM Meade County Public Library Annex Give someone you care about a handmade card or gift this year. Stamp, color and decorate cards, with all of the materials supplied. Registration is limited, so sign up at the front desk.
  18. 18. Basket Weaving Wednesday, December 8th • 12-4 PM • Group Project Meade County Public Library Annex Discover the art of basket weaving! All levels of experience welcome and participants are asked to bring their own supplies. See the front desk for more information.
