General InformationCOURSE DESCRIPTIONNeuroradiology: Practice to Innovationis intended to provide a practicaldiscussion and review of commondiseases involving the brain, head/neck,and spine. It will also provide anoverview of common imaging strategies,as well as an update in new trends,relevant techniques, and applications indiagnostic and/or therapeuticneuroradiology. In addition, this coursewill review common endovascular andspinal interventional techniques utilizedin neuroradiology.Attendees will have an opportunity toparticipate in two American Board of Radiology Self-Assessment Modules(SAMs).COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVESUpon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:• dentify key issues in MRI safety, including implanted devices and I gadolinium-associated nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF)• xplain how advanced imaging techniques may be utilized in the E management of acute stroke• ecognize common diseases of the skull base, neck, orbit, and temporal bone R• ummarize the added value FDG PET/CT can bring to detection of disease S recurrence in head and neck cancer• iscuss the role of non-invasive imaging in evaluating intracranial aneurysms D and vascular dissections• ecognize common inflammatory patterns and neoplasms of the sinuses and R nasal cavities• iscuss advanced MRI techniques in the evaluation of brain tumors D• ecognize the imaging manifestations and differential diagnosis of R paraneoplastic syndromes• emonstrate MRI and CT features of D neoplastic, inflammatory, traumatic, and degenerative disease of the spine• stablish a framework for the E approach of pediatric metabolic brain disorders• escribe the spectrum of D overlapping, often multiple types of congenital brain anomaliesAttendance at this Mayo course doesnot indicate nor guarantee competenceor proficiency in the performance ofany procedures which may bediscussed or taught in this course.
