  • 2. Course Description & Intended Audience This 15th annual conference emphasizes clinical care issues confronting busy clinicians including current pharmacology content. The program is designed for nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and primary care physicians. Breakout and interactive workshop sessions enable the learner to customize their educational experience. Course Objectives Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to: • Enhance diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills consistent with available evidence-based guidelines. • Identify current, clinically oriented, evidence-based practice recommendations in specialties such as cardiology, endocrinology, preventive medicine, women’s health, and gastroenterology. • Describe indications for diagnosis, management and patient referral for clinical scenarios encountered in current practices. Continuing Education Credit College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic, is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic designates this educational activity for a maximum of 21.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.   • 3. Basic Suturing Skill Lab This hands-on workshop provides an opportunity to obtain wound assessment and management skills useful in everyday practice. Practice simple interrupted and simple running stitches. Foot and Toenail Care Workshop This hands-on workshop enables participants to identify select conditions of the skin and toenails, provide appropriate patient education, and experience a basic level of foot and toenail care as one may see in a clinical setting.
