Objectives Upon completion of this program the learner should be able to: • Describe the essential elements of transitions of care in the Emergency Department. • Describe how recent articles EM literature will affect daily practice. • Perform a FAST abdominal ultrasound, a basic echocardiogram, and localize the jugular vein using ultrasound. Registration Fee The registration fee is $90 for physicians and $75 for allied health professionals. Students and residents may attend for free. This fee includes registration, instruction and educational materials, CME, CEU and EMS recording, continental breakfast, lunch and break snacks. All but $10 of the fee is refundable if inability to attend is made known on or before September 6, 2013. Refunds will not be made for notification after this date. Credit Physicians: The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM . Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Track B of this conference fulfills the Iowa Board of Medicine requirement for 1 hour each of palliative care and chronic pain control.
