Softball Hitting Tips

  1. 1. Softball Hitting Tips By Marc Dagenais, MHK, CSCS, ChPC http://www.softballperformance.com One of the things you should you should learn and must focus on softball is softball hitting. An excellent hitting skill is one of the most fundamental knacks that every player must possess. It is one of the most difficult moves to teach and learn when it comes to playing this sport. Knowing the essence of this sport, le us discuss some softball hitting tips that can help you seize your game to the next level. The Bat. Choosing your bat is very vital because this will be your partner throughout the game. Be acquainted with the weight of the bat. Being familiar to the weight of your bat will help you swing with ease and power. You and your bat must correlate with one another. Keep you head still. Your focus on the ball marks out how well and strong you hit the softball. Keeping your head in one position and one direction will help fix your fullest attention to the ball and predict its way to you. This will grant you time to estimate proper timing to hit the ball. Relax your hands. Holding a bat in an undisturbed manner will give you more speed when you hit the ball. Make sure your fingers are settled in the bat comfortably. Keep your hands relaxed but not too loose. Your Posture. Keep your knees bent. Tilt a bit forward, stay with your proper hitting angle and maintain a good balance. Maintain a posture that fits your need and comfort. Warm up. Many players tend to be so excited about playing the game that they overlook to warm their muscles up first. Because of this, their performance becomes severely limited. Before stepping into the home plate, make sure you do your warm-ups first. Focus especially on the muscles that you will be using more frequently during the course of the game. Be confident. Many players have not yet developed their confidence when stepping on the plate. With this, catchers and pitchers take advantage of their lack of confidence and try to force the hitter to commit errors. Don't let this happen to you. Before stepping on the plate, show them how confident you are. Do not hang down, carry your bat boldly and look into the batter's eyes and tell her that you mean business. Stay focused. When you step on the plate, remember that it is just you and the ball. Your objective is to hit the ball and keep it out of the reach of the fielders. Concentrate on that and don't let the other things bother you. Hitting requires massive energy when you swing your bat and hit the ball. Regular practice with your preferred bat will help you keep track on your swinging speed and the speed of your ball
