      • Bar Graphs
      • Line graphs (connect)
        • used when manipulated variable continuous (like time)
        • interpolate
        • extrapolate
    2. Interpreting Data
      • Bar and Line Graphs (DRY MIX)
        • horizontal=x-axis=manipulated (or independent) variable
        • vertical=y-axis=responding (or dependent) variable
        • be sure to label each axis, include units
        • equal spacing (don’t have to start at zero)
        • include title and key
        • colorful and neat

      • Circle (pie) graph
        • use protractor or computer
        • when you have data for all categories to make up given topic
        • include label as well as % and/or degrees for each slice
        • different color per slice
        • partial X 360 ° total
    5. OPT--M&M lab
      • As a group, write your names on a dixie cup, then count out 36 M&M’s.
      • Sort the M&M’s by color and make a data table.
      • Tell Mrs. McMullan how many reds you have.
      • Make a data table and bar graph (circle graph later) for the 36 M&M’s (do not eat any until everything is finished and checked—tomorrow?)
      • Part 2: make with computer (Excel)—in a couple of days
