  • 4. Library Services the first floor: Computer & Media Services Computer & Media Services  Get help with technology, computers, & software  View dvds or videos  Checkout laptops for in- library use
  • 5. Library Services the first floor: Self-Service Copy Center Self-Service Copy Center  Automatic Deposit Machine (ADM) allows you to put money on your CatCard. Library copiers & printers use the CatCard, not money. More info about the ADM & CatCard is available at https://catcard.hartnell.edu/oneweb/index.htm  Photocopiers
  • 6. Library Services the first floor: Group Study Rooms Group Study Rooms  There are 11 group study rooms on the first floor  Most have technology—plasma screens & smart board technologies
  • 7. Library Collections the first floor: Reserve Collection Reserve books, textbooks, tests, papers and other printed materials are located at Circulation Services. Instructors place these items on Reserve for short check out time periods (2 hours, 24 hours, 3 days) so the entire class can use them. Non-print materials—bones, skeletons, DVDs, videos, CDs are located at Media & Computer Services.
  • 8. Library Collections the first floor: Current Periodicals The most current issues of magazines and journals are located on display shelves at the library entrance Request newspapers at Circulation Services
  • 9. Library Collections the first floor: Special Collections Special Collections includes the College Archives & the Silliman Library Materials are available for viewing by appointment
  • 10. Technology the first floor 250 + computers Wireless connections Safari/video on demand State-of-the art distance/video learning center Cutting edge Faculty Resource Center Digitizing, imaging, & video editing rooms
  • 11. Library Services the second floor: Reference Services Reference librarians are available during all library open hours to assist students with research Librarians teach library orientations, workshops, classes, and lead tours
  • 12. Library Services & Collections the second floor Self-Service Copy Center with photocopiers Self-Check out station using RFID technology Book stacks (60,000 volumes) Periodical stacks (300 subscriptions) 11 group study rooms
  • 13. Study Spaces A variety of study areas are available to meet the needs of different learners  Quiet spaces (Silent study room, 2nd floor)  Comfortable seating  Spaces with views – lobby, window views of Central Park, 2nd floor
