    9. 9. EARN VIP STATUS</li></li></ul><li>How to Register Online<br /><br />See the sheet in your packet<br />Go to the website and click “Register Team.”<br />**If you are registered as part of an organization, please include this in your name or put it as your company**<br />

Team Communication<br />Remember to keep your team updated.<br />It is very important that you tell your team the information that we tell you.<br />Forward emails, send out reminders, find time to get together.<br />Try to get together briefly at least once or twice to discuss things as a team.<br />Set goals. <br />Be there for them!<br />

Adopt-A-Survivor<br />Goal: Every team have at least one survivor!<br />Who is a survivor?<br />Anyone who currently has or previously had cancer<br />Does not necessarily have to have beaten cancer<br />Survivors do not need to be present at Relay, but can be “adopted” by a team<br />If you know any survivors, invite them to the event! <br />Get their information so they can be on mailing list for free game tickets, etc. <br />

    14. 14. Fundraising<br />Remember NEW to this year…<br />Each participant must raise $100 to get a t-shirt!<br />

Fundraising Ideas<br />Start a penny war<br />Shovel driveways for a donation<br />Garage sale<br />Grab a water bottle and ask for change… a bottle full of dimes is $96!!<br />On the website – “Team Captain Toolkit” then “ABC’s of Fundraising, Fundraising Tips Booklet…”<br />Write letters to family and friends! -Online Template (demonstration)<br />Ask 10 friends or family to buy 10 luminaria in honor or memory of their loved ones<br />

Sell ‘stars’ for a dollar to hang on doors of dorms.<br />Turn in cans for money in Council Bluffs…Start collecting those cans!<br />Have a team bake sale<br />50 Days of Relay<br />Do what you can and encourage your team!<br />Go to local restaurants and ask to place a bucket there. <br />The worst thing they’ll say is no.<br />Get creative. It is up to you to take the initiative!<br />
