The history of web-based ministry is very much still in its infancy. A new concept for some, the use the technology as a means to spread the gospel, grow in faith, and worship online has grown exponentially in recent years.
Matt Carlisle, a 15-year veteran of faith-based web development, will lead you through a history of the past, present and future of online ministry. Matt is the former director of web ministry at United Methodist Communications, where he was the executive designer, producer and editor of UMC.org, the official website of The United Methodist Church. During that time, Carlisle instituted the use of cutting edge Web applications. Through his own personal experience, and those of other Web evangelists breaking new ground, Matt will share stories of how web technology is helping to reshape the Church and Christians throughout the world.
Matt Carlisle is the founder of BigHeartDesign.com, a user-centered design company located in Nashville, Tenn. Big Heart Design partners with non-profit organizations to help bring to life websites and online applications. He is also the cofounder of Ministry2.org, a hands-on workshop and live event ministry designed for church leaders and volunteers interested in enhancing their ministry using the latest in web technology.
