I am glad you found the slides interesting. I didn't call the facebook api directly from the model although that is an interesting idea. There is already java project to combine FQL and jdbc driver...

Nice ppt. I have a couple of questions, 1. How close have u been to make your facebook app RESTful? I understand all requests from facebook our POST, but did u change Rails internals to avoid Rails ..

Thanks for sharing this Mathew. I enjoyed this short presentation slides. I am thinking about writing a Facebook app myself with Rails. It seems like a great way of getting traffic.
