Pat's metaphor of research Presentation Transcript

  • 1. Research is like a puzzle. The pieces are the different parts/process ofresearch and the image/picture you will getwould be the results or findings. Just likeresearch, you need patience in order to finishthe puzzle. Research and piecing a puzzle aresimilar with each other because they are bothtime consuming. You will not be finished injust one snap.
  • 2. In this minimalist perspective, I will explain howresearch is like the color black. The first thing that Ithought after seeing this image is that it has a mysteryin it and therefore, you need to investigate what it is,just like in research. The reason why the image is ablack square is because the color black has a sense offormality and orderliness. In research, you also need tobe formal and orderly. After seeing the image, you’llfeel intimidated because you have no idea what it is soyou’ll really think or ponder about the image in orderto know what it is. Just like research, when you readjournal articles, you really need to read the articlecarefully so that you’ll be able to understand it.
