  • Increase of impervious surfaces has led to degradation of streams and water quality, flooding, property damage, biotic integrity. With more impervious surfaces, 1-2 yr storm events happen more frequently due to higher evaporation, thus more opportunity for precipitation. So, our bank-fulls become more often, eroding the streams.

Unlike treated water, which is &quot;softened&quot; with dissolved minerals, rain water is naturally soft. The water stored in your rain barrel is better than municipal water for watering indoor or outdoor plants. </li></ul>
