A PRODUCTIVE POWER TEAMNEEDS 3 ELEMENTS• A committed leader• A predictable meeting time and location• An open-calendar format

COMMITTED LEADER• One person who runs meeting• Sets time and location - no democracy• Promotes meetings each month• Helps if this person is a high “D” (or “Ruby”)

LOCATION• Choose a monthly meeting time• Choose a good location and stick to it• Don’t change it or make exceptions• Post it to your organization’s website

OPEN CALENDAR FORMAT• Everyone brings their calendars• Each person takes a turn sharing signiﬁcant interactions for past and upcoming 30 days• Everyone else gets a chance to express interest in a referral to that person• Person sharing calendar writes down requests and attempts to turn it into a referral

GUIDELINES• Start on time• Suppress social chit-chat until the end• Keep everyone focused - no rambling• Person sharing needs to capture referral requests and follow up on them• Everyone is accountable

RESULTS• BNI IBC Chapter: over 50% of our referrals come from B2B Power Team (approx. 6 people)• Quality of referrals is higher than usual• We get to know others’ businesses much better
