What are the duties of a court? How are these duties upheld? (i.e. where are the checks and balances?)
How does The Crucible discuss the issue of social responsibility? Evaluate the motivation of the people who are supporting the persecution of those accused of witchcraft (Abigail, Parris, Putnam, and the judges). Then evaluate those who are not supporting the persecution (John, Elizabeth, Rebecca, and Giles). How does this thought carry into today's society?
