This document discusses peer-to-peer (P2P) networking compared to the traditional client/server model. It provides examples of P2P software like BitTorrent and Skype, and describes the different P2P architectures including pure P2P with no servers and hybrid models that use centralized servers for lookup with distributed data sharing. Legal and security issues are also briefly mentioned in regards to P2P networking.
