Merry Christmas From Hannah, Ben, Emily Mark and Denise Beese
February, 2007 We started the year with a ski trip to Winter Park with our cousins Jacob and Jonathan and our Aunt Julie and Uncle Dave. We skied all day long and soaked in the tub at night.
May, 2007 Ben received his Wolf badge in Cub Scouts and went to Camp with his dad in June. This past December Ben achieved his Bear rank and is working towards his Arrow of Light. At camp he enjoyed shooting things with guns and arrows. He especially like being with his friends.
April, 2007 Emily went to Washington D.C. with her class. She enjoyed going to many places like the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capital. She had a very fun time touring and spending time with her friends while learning lots of neat stuff about our country.
Summer, 2007 This summer we took a long trip back east for a family wedding. On the way we toured northern Michigan and went to Mackinac Island for the day.
Summer, 2007 Emily was a bridesmaid in Renee Guistwite and Seth Good’s wedding. Ben lit the candles.
Summer, 2007 Uncle Ken taught Emily and Ben how to water ski.
August, 2007 Emily started Junior High (7 th Grade) at D’Evelyn Jr./Sr. High School this year. Ben is in 3 rd Grade at Montessori School of Evergreen. Hannah is two and will start school at Montessori next year.
September, 2007 On Labor Day weekend we drove up to Mt. Evans, which is down the road from our house. It was snowing on the summit, and on the way down, we had a few visitors.
September/October 2007 In September, Dad went to London to speak at a conference. In October, he and Ben went to Minneapolis to see Ken Burns. Mr. Burns talked about his new documentary, The War. To the surprise of everyone in town, the Colorado Rockies brought the World Series to Denver. Dad had great seats to Game 4.
October, 2007 Emily had a Halloween party for her friends from Evergreen Academy. They all had a lot of fun doing activities like a mummy wrap with toilet paper and doing relay races. Everyone brought a snack and lots of candy. There were lots of different costumes.
October, 2007 This Halloween we went trick- or-treating around our neighborhood. Hannah, Ben and Emily dressed up. Hannah was Tinker Bell, Ben was Harry Potter, and Emily who was a girl going to a masquerade ball. Earlier in the day we encountered an elk which we named Spooky. He came to our door and took Emily’s jack-o-lantern. He ripped it apart and left nothing but the stem. He came back later...
Halloween Continued When Spooky came back it was very late. Mom fell asleep on the couch that night and woke up suddenly to a pounding on the door and she was afraid because she thought it was a person trying to break in. Once Dad came down stairs he figured out that it was just Spooky the elk. Mom still was afraid but everybody thought that the story was hilarious. That was the big hit of the holiday.
