Native Americans of the Pacific NorthwestStudents will use Smartphones and QR codes to researchinformation on the Pacific Northwest Native Americans.What you will need to find: 1. What types of houses did the Native Americans live in?Why did they build those types of houses, what resources were available?Who lived in the houses and what activities did they do in the houses?
2. What roles did men and women serve in the tribe?What did they do to contribute to the tribe?3. What was unique about the Pacific Northwest tribes? What did they have that other tribes did not have?4. What types of foods did they eat? Why did they eatthem, for example what resources where available to the tribes in the surrounding areas?
How are you going to get the Information?QR codes...What are they and how do we use them?Using the app on your Smartphone, take a picture of the QR code and it will take you to sites to gather your information.
Roles everyone in your team will play....Job A: will be the recorder, this student will record all information gain during their information hunt onto their assignment sheet. Job B: This student will be the phone handler, they will be the only one for the day able to hold, transport or use the phone. Job C: This student will be the advisor, they will advise the recorder on what to write from a particular site, careful to use their own words. Job D: This student will be the guide; they will decide where to look for the code and which code they will go to. The roles will change daily so everyone has a chance to have a turn at each role., But you will all work together.
Once done, you and your team will put togethera Smartboard presentation in a well organized manneron the software in the computer lab.Lets go over the rubric so you will know what is expected.
