  • Calendar, Email, Contacts
  • Federal government using Gapps, more than 5 millionorganizations using the platform, examples: Kiva, Samasource, WITNESS, NuruInternarional
  • If your server fails, it’s not in the paper the next day. If Google fails, it is! Super reliable, much more so than the “server in the back room”
  • Technology is moving to cloud-based services: Google Drive, Amazon Cloud Services, Microsoft SkyDrive, Apple iCloud
  • Supposed to take 30-60 days. May take longer to get full approval. Ugh.
  • You’ll also get an email.
  • Branches of umbrella organizations that share Employee Identification Numbers (EIN) numbers with their parent organizations are eligible for individual memberships. Branches must indicate that they are applying as a "related organization" during the Google for Nonprofits application process and go through additional screening. If your nonprofit is fiscally sponsored and does not have 501c3 charity status, you are not eligible for the program.
