  • FIRST CONDITIONAL
    • IF + PRESENT, WILL+ INFINITIVE
    • We use IF + PRESENT, WILL+ INFINITIVE to talk about a possible future situation and its consequence.
    • The if clause can come first or second
    • If you study hard, you will pass your exam
    • It’s raining outside, If you don’t take your umbrella, you will get wet
    • If you don’t take a map, you will get lost
    If you take a map … you won’t get lost You will find your way more easily
  • If you eat too much chocolate You will get fat
  • Sometimes they use the first conditional to talk about traditions and superstitions If children put a missing tooth under the pillow at night, The tooth fairy … Will come and leave them some money
  • If you find a four- leaf clover… You’ll be very lucky
  • If you break a mirror… You will have seven years of bad luck
    • If you throw a coin into a fountain and you make a wish…
    • The wish will come true
