    • The combination of notes of different lengths (long/short notes)
    • The steady pulse you feel in music is called
    • beat.
    • The length of a note is measured in beats

    • The speed of the music - fast / slow
    • i.e. its beat or pulse
  • 12. Dynamics
    • Dynamics are how
    • loudly or softly the
    • music is played.
    • The conductor is the

    • orchestra.
  • 13. More Dynamic Terms
    • “ piano ” or “ p ” = softly
    • “ forte ” or “ f ” = loudly
    • “ Mezzo” = medium or moderately
    • “ Mezzo forte” or “ mf ” = medium loud
    • “ Mezzo piano ” or “ mp ” = medium soft
    • “ crescendo”(cres) or “ ” = music gets gradually louder.
    • “ diminuendo”(dim) or “ “ = music gets gradually softer.
