  • 2. SEMANTICS  Semantics is the study of meaning. It typically focuses on the relation between signifiers, such as words, phrases, signs and symbols, and what they stand for.  It is often used in ordinary language to denote a problem of understanding that comes down to word selection or connotation
  • 3. EXAMPLES OF SEMANTICS  “Pen” is a word with two meanings: i. A pen to write with ii. a place for animals that has fence all around  “Like” is also a same kind of word: i. For liking someone ii. For giving example.
