  3. 3. <ul><li>Ever heard of Twitter? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>A self induced stalker-ish web service that allows you to instantly update your friends, family, co-workers, and creepy people…as to what you are doing at any given moment and for them to do the same to you. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>“ How do you make money from Twitter? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Twitter has many appealing opportunities for generating revenue but we are holding off on implementation for now because we don't want to distract ourselves from the more important work at hand which is to create a compelling service and great user experience for millions of people around the world.   7. 7. <ul><li>Many sites make money off of user content. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Publishing books of user’s content </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Selling content to other users </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Selling T-shirts, stickers, button, etc. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Facebook </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Retains the right to sell your content, i.e. pictures for anything including a girls of Facebook calendar. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Post Secret, a site made of entirely user content relies on the selling its four books of user’s posts in order to keep the site running. </li></ul>
  8. 8. <ul><li>Users have multiple ways of getting income in terms of Web 2.0 </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Producing content </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Squidoo allows users to make web pages and then pays users a percentage of their advertising revenue </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Metacafe pays users royalties for videos they submit. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Blogging </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>By selling advertising space on your blog, you can earn money for ranting on the internet…who knew? </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Text Link Ads: sells ad space for you and gives you 50% of the profit from the advertisment. </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Marketing </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Users can show off their goods to more people and find interested groups willing to learn more. </li></ul></ul></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>Its not so easy. </li></ul><ul><li>Must have interesting content that brings in the viewers in order to make any money from advertisements. </li></ul><ul><li>If you build it…they may still not come. </li></ul><ul><li>Many people are not willing to pay for services on the internet and demand free content and services. </li></ul>
