    •  The Ghettos were created in all major cities throughout occupied Europe. The Warsaw Ghetto was one of the largest People who died were carried away in the death carts Were to hold all Jewish prisoners until further notice or death.
    •  Jews were rounded up and hauled to Ghettos in trucks or put on trains for Poland Some round ups took place in Ghettos for transports
    •  Most transports were shipments to Concentration camps Some took Jews to labor camps
    •  Was the largest German concentration camp Killed and held Jews for labor Around 1 million were killed in the Gas chambers and burnt Had a few uprisings and revolts Operational from 1942 to late 1944
    •  Certain labor and concentration camps had large revolts of prisoners In Auschwitz they smuggled in explosives and blew up Crematorium
    •  In 1944 as the Soviets advanced the Jews of Warsaw Ghetto staged an uprising It lasted for 30 days and destroyed most of the Ghetto It tied up 3 German army divisions from fighting elsewhere Killed all but a few Jews in the Ghetto
