  • 2. White space often known to visual designers as negative space It is that portion of a page left unmarked: the space between graphics, margins, gutters, space between columns, space between lines of type or figures and objects drawn or depicted.
  • 3. Example
    This website is orderly and uncluttered. The white space organizes the site making it easy to read and uncomplicated it is not full of advertisements and complications its very easy on the eyes.
  • 4. White space is a fundamental principle in graphic design. A lack of text or images creates a more balanced visual interpretation and can help focus ones attention on the main article or title. It increases comprehension of text. It allows breathing space and is an essential factor in design.

  • 5. Bad Example
    This site creates confusion and does not help focus your attention on any one thing or title. Its lack of white space creates unbalance and clutter. It does not advertise well and does not make me want to learn Turkish Cuisine.
  • 6. White space is probably the most essential design element second to the actual design. A lack of white space creates confusion and can be confusing and turn peoples attention off of your design.
