Leadership Summer School

LSS
The Leadership Summer School project was
born to fulfill a perceived need of improving the
training culture and quality across youth
associations, by sharing best practices.
Despite the fact that IFISO member
organizations come from various backgrounds
and disciplines, they often share similar
scopes to improve overlaps, knowledge
transfer, continuity and communication. This
interdisciplinary event became a training
platform for active young volunteers providing
training open to all IFISO member
organisations.

The Informal Forum of International Student Organizations (IFISO) is a non-
political and nonprofit forum for various student-run organizations. Currently it
consists of 30 student organizations, covering more than two million students all
together.

Leadership Summer School
LSS Chain
First Leadership Summer School was organised in July 2008
IFISO in Ankara, Turkey.
Second Leadership Summer School took place in Split,
Member
Croatia on Faculty of Chemistry and Technology, during the
Organisations period 17th-25th July, 2009.
LSS had 64 participants, from 27 countries and 20 student
organizations. Training was held by a team of 13 trainers.

Persons Thanks to the dedicated work of the LSS teams: Trainers,
Coordination Team, Organizing Committee and the Contact
Persons, the whole event was successfully ended. So many
Coordination student organizations met together at one place, ready to
Team create and work together. The LSS managed to show the power
and also the potential that IFISO has.
Organizing After 2 years of success, LSS became the platform for the
Committee education of young leaders. It is now firmly established within
the IFISO, representing the gathering point of the worlds
student organisations.
Trainers On the Leadership Summer School 2009, "Sebastian
Oltmanns Award" for the best young leader was introduced.

CT Call introduction
Leadership Summer School is looking for the leaders ready to take
the challenge of coordinating LSS 2010.
Coordination Teams main duty is to select and facilitate
communication between LSS bodies: Organizing Committee,
Trainers and IFISO Contact Persons.
This call selects 2 coordinators and IT Team.
2 coordinators
Any student can compete for this role. Important is to be motivated,
dedicated and ready to make a difference.
It would be beneficial to also have:
- experience from student organisations
- other international experience like EU grants
- hard-working character with an innovative mind
CT applicant should be prepared to participate in minimum one
preparation meeting like FTF- Face To Face meeting.

IT Team
All students with knowledge of design or web page development and
maintenance can compete to be part of this team. Medium level skills
.
are minimum requirements. Team will choose one person to be
Coordination Team member.
After the Organizing Committee is choosen to host the Leadership
Summer School 2010, they will delegate one person to be the Ct
member.
After the Trainers call and the formation of the Trainers Team, main
trainer will be selected among the trainers to take part of the CT.
Coordination Team from the previous LSS will nominate one person
to be responsible in the advisory role.
This is the selection proces of 6 members of the Coordination Team
that lead the project until the handover to the next Coordination Team.
