  • 2. The brain of the ant
    • The insect with the largest brain in propotion to size is the ant.They are the smartest insects with 250,000 braincells.
  • 3. THE PREDATORS
    • A giant anteater can tear up a ant hill in minutes .The anteater can eat twenty thousand ants in one meal.
    • A ant lion digs a sand pit that is shape as a triangle.Then when a ant looks into the pit,the ant lion tosses sand at the ant so it would fall.
  • 4. Nurse ants
    • Ants lick the larvae so they do not dry out,and feed them so they could grow.
  • 5. Foragers
    • The oldest ants search for food.most foragers search within fifty feet of the nest,but if food is scarce,they may travel thousands of feet.
  • 6. Guards
    • When ants first leave the nest , they stand near the entrance,blocking strange ants from entering.
  • 7. Queen tender
    • Small ants help the queen lay eggs .The small ant grabs the eggs with there mandible.
  • 8. Diging ants
    • They dig holes, move a pile of dirt 6 inches high and inches wide they load 500,000 loads of dirt.
  • 9. How do ants fight ?
    • Ants fight by ejecting a spray of formic acid at their victim from the end of the abdomen.
  • 10. Ants mandibles
    • These powerful jaws could serve as inspirations for the propulsion systems of miniature robots used for rescue operations
