  • I’m the Asst. Director for learning technologies at the college, the equivalent to your instructional technologist at your school. It is my job to help all faculty members integrate technology into their classrooms. I was certified in 7-12 and taught Technology Ed in Middle & High School. This morning we are going to discuss why we should use technology in the classroom, and this afternoon we will be doing some hands-on activities in Poe Hall Computer labs
  • Compare this to the previous pictures – what is similar? What is different? Are whiteboards the only new technology that is ubiquitous?
  • This was cutting edge when I was a student – the mimiograph
  • Time to learn as teachers
    Time to catch students up
  • Getting technology to fit in the curriculum
  • Too much to do
  • Because we find time for things we want to and believe in
  • Was Prensky right? Does technology acceptance = technology ability?
Our students weren’t born after Windows 95 was invented
