Peer Mentoring/Peer Assisted Learning Leicester Award: Assessment Specification<br />(School of Biological Sciences and Geography)<br />Assessment for the Peer Assisted Learning Leicester Award will be through the submission of a portfolio and a presentation.<br />The portfolio<br />The portfolio can be submitted in a paper or electronic format and should contain the following:<br /><ul><li>Evidence of at least 20 hours of Peer Assisted Learning leadership related activity (inclusive of any team meetings, preparation, publicity etc).
Skills audit completed during initial training.
Presentation materials – these will be assessed at the time of the presentation, but need to be included within the portfolio for moderation purposes.</li></ul>The presentation<br />Students will be required to deliver a presentation demonstrating their understanding of the links between the skills developed and employability criteria required by employers.<br />Grading:<br />The four components of the award include:<br /><ul><li>Evidence of at least 20 hours of Peer Assisted Learning leadership related activity (inclusive of any team meetings, preparation, publicity etc).
Presentation</li></ul>Students who achieve a Pass within each of the components outlined above will receive the Leicester Award for Employability.<br />Students who do not achieve a Pass within one or more of the above components will not be eligible for the Award.<br />Further details of assessment components:<br />1) Evidence of at least 20 hours of Peer Assisted Learning leadership related activity<br />Please provide evidence of at least 20 hours of Peer Assisted Learning leadership related activity (inclusive of any team meetings, preparation, publicity etc).<br />This should consist of:<br /><ul><li>Evidence of the intervention/activity such as your PAL activity log, confirmation of room bookings, sign-in sheets or photos of face to face sessions; links to or screenshots of IT mediated support; links to/screenshots or physical examples of resource(s) developed. (Essential)
Submitted project proposal and the project updates submitted to the facilitator. (Essential)
