    1. “ Water, water everywhere, nor any drop to drink.” Part 2: Save The River!
    2. Collaborative group activity
      • Given a computer with Internet access, a word processor, and the appropriate webquest documents, collaborative groups of 7 th grade Earth Sciences students will research data on the quality of the water in the local river and will summarize their findings in written format with at least 90% accuracy based on the rubric.

    4. Google Earth Visualization
      • Using Google Earth as part of the webquest, students will visualize and identify potential local businesses to contact in the letter-writing campaign.
    5. Streetview - Gas Station
      • What about gas stations?
      • How many gas stations can you identify in the area around the school?
    6. Streetview - Blimpy Burger
      • Blimpy’s deliciously heart-stopping burgers are not only bad for your health but the cooking grease is nasty waste!
      • What other restaurants can you identify in the local area?
    7. … and so forth, offering 5 or 6 categories of business to identify and letting the students find the appropriate locations
      • Our school will be working in collaboration with the Huron River Watershed Foundation to address the problem of waste awareness in the community around our school.
      • Many of the older storm drains are not marked as the example is here.
      • We’re going to change that by spraypainting a similar message where it is needed!
